my normal practice would be to drop the pipes under the floor and use a piece of marine ply to replace the removed boards.

turn off pump at mains, disconnect outlets and run them into a bucket. turn on mains- for a very short time. should be able to tell if pump or shower is gone. my money on pump. twin impeller? around a ton.

yes you could try that, but first trim off the silicone thatgoes past the line of the screen at the base.the seal should fold inwards so the surplus sealant is stopping it.

looks like a piece missing- when you take the top off, there should be a "cup" underneath with slots around the top lip. the shorter top tube is supposed to fit into this, creating the trap for hair, rings, etc. as the water reaches the slots it overspills into the base.
