    usually have release buttons on the hinges,so the base part of the hinge needs to be TIGHT. and you have to buy the exact same seat to ensure fitting.

    what causes a shower pump to remain running even after she shower is turned off?there is no leak from the pipework and the pump only feeds the shower. is it an internal fault in the pump? still under warantee...

    probably diaphragm gone.a few quid to buy. or possibly the filter in the water inlet. but I'd go for the diaphragm, seeing as you're having to "jumpstart" the hot by turning on more than one appliance.

    take the head off the trv (they usually unscrew) and try to pull up the exposed pin with a pair of pliers.

    also, yes need a sparky for the pump and ask him when he quotes if you need the earth bonding. essex flange screws in the side of the tank avoiding any air that goes to the top of it.

    have a look on toolstation or screwfix for a gas bottle and head. also a pushfit dry pressure gauge which you can do with a footpump.

    does the handle in the photo unscrew? if so there may be a grubscrew at the bottom of the hole.

    undo copper to flexi nut, grab hold of flexi and if you're lucky it will unscrew. repeat with other and undo nut on base of tap. if flexis don't unscrew, undo nut and draw tap up through worksurface and unscrew or cut off. you will probably need a tube spanner to undo the tap retainer- can get...
