    The 240 was never available without an expansion vess , but as kev said fitting an external one can be cheaper and qiicker. Thai "big" screw must be the by pass screw, bet it leaks now.

    Got a memo some place about that satronic fault, box basically gets stuck in ignition mode and stay there never goes to lockout just holds motor and transformer on, memo gives man date of said box, will try to find info.

    How did he check the pump ? could be that the impellor is detached, motor will spin ok but nothing else.

    The Satronic control box usualy the 832 gives that fault, if so you may find the transformer may allso be burnt out as it tends to hold the ignition on.

    Had a 24cdi doing the same thing until boiler repositioned to a 3.5M flue, allso reduced the hunting when on high fire. best keep something running on the dhw circuit to avoid build up of sediment/corrosion.

    It sounds as if your diverter valve diagphram has gone, if you can look from under the boiler you will see a black box atached to the end of the brass diverter valve,when you run a hot tap the plunger on the end of the valve should come out about 10mm and contact the micro switch in the black...

    If your installer has fitted 10mm or worse 8mm pipes to the rads this will give a velocity noise around the system as the 24i junior is a small water content boiler,if so biger circs and a by pass can help the situation.
