DVD recorder unable to record channels please help

This might sound really obvious, but are you stuck on AV1 / AV2 etc on the DVD recorder, or on the TV?

What are av1 stereo av2 stereo

OK, you have a DVD recorder, and you're pressing the AV button or suchlike to select AV1 and AV2. What other equipment do you have? I assume you have a TV, and the TV is connected to the DVD recorder. Is it connected with an RF lead or a SCART lead? Is there ANYTHING connected to the...

Fitting an inset sink - tap first or sink first?

Sink supplied with adhesive sealing strip to go around perimeter - would anyone add a bead of silicone for the belt 'n' braces approach, or just go with the sealing strip?

Fitting an inset sink - tap first or sink first?

Is there an accepted norm? Fit the tap to the sink, then set the sink in the worktop? or, Set the sink in the worktop and fit the tap after?

Waterproof sheeting for around baths and showers?

Waterproof panels, apparently in same size as plasterboard or hardboard would be supplied in, fitted around baths or showers in lieu of tiling Is there a generic name for this stuff, apart from 'waterproof sheeting' (which sounds like 'tarpaulin' when you write it down.....)

    High Pitch Beeping

So, it's a persistent high-pitched tone that hasn't stopped for two days or so. How big is the house? Does it sound at the same volume in every room? Do you have an attic or a basement/cellar? Are there any adjacent properties, either above/below or to the side? Invite a friend or...

If I have two electric showers ....

The regs referred to in the link a couple of posts back appear to apply to England and Wales only - and I'm in Scotland. Does anyone know if exactly the same legislation was enacted thru the Scottish Parliament?

If I have two electric showers ....

It's a possibility, the only downside being a long heat-up time compared with the Mira, as the boiler is two floors below the bathroom. This might not find favour with OH. As OP says, since the plumbing is already there with a mains-pressure cold water feed, I considered instant electric...

If I have two electric showers ....

A Vokera combi, at ground floor level. The bathroom is at 2nd floor level, and there' s no hot-water cylinder. Different types of shower? Power or pumped shower taking H&C from boiler and cold water tank? Thermo mixer taking H&C from same sources?

If I have two electric showers ....

I'm not DIYing it if it's illegal to do so; but I want to discuss in advance what's required, and what can be done, possibly to the Nth level of detail. Some would call me a control freak, but I just tell them they're not taking enough interest in what's going on around them.... Are you...

If I have two electric showers ....

Because there's regulation about not putting electric cables next to water supply pipes, and I'm not clear on the regulation, and whether or not it applies to waste as well as supply pipes.

If I have two electric showers ....

Main fuse (outside the cons unit) is 60A, the master MCB within the cons unit is 63A, as is the main switch within the cons unit. Shower has 40A MCB, there's a few socket rings at 32A each, oven at 32A, alarm at 6A, boiler at 16A, and a few lighting rings at 10A each. You reckon if I got...

If I have two electric showers ....

Yes, soil & vent pipe. The most direct route from ground to 2nd floor, possibly allowing routing of new cabling for new shower without ripping out walls and floors..... any reason why cabling can't follow the vertical run of the SVP and be led through the same cavity?

If I have two electric showers ....

So, extra MCB and possibly RCD (although the existing shower doesn't appear to have one) The easiest route for the cable run would appear to be through the boxed corners where the SVPs go - is there any regulation that would prohibit the new cabling going here?

If I have two electric showers ....

There's two SVPs within the house, boxed in in corners of bathroom and E/S and the rooms below. I don't know which route the supply cable runs from consumer unit to the existing shower, but if we were adding the extra shower, do regulations allow the cable to be run through the same spaces...

HOW TO RECORD FREEVIEW CHANNELS ON PANASONIC DVD RECORDER

What model of LG? How does your current set up differ from previous, when you could only record terrestrial? If you connect the Panasonic DVD via a SCART, in order to record via that SCART input, you need to use the 'input select' on the Panasonic to select it, not the channel select...

    Cable tv in bedroom

If there's a co-ax output on your cable box, I'd connect it there. If there isn't, I think you'll have to make do with four channels upstairs. Take it you have an aerial connected to upstairs TV? However, even if you do get it connexted, you're going to have to go downstairs to change...

Too much noise from wall mounted tv

If the TV is wall-mounted on the party wall, and it has built-in speakers, those speakers may well be on the back of the TV, and pointing toward the wall. If this is the case, no amount of fiddling with their tone controls will help, and unless they turn it WAY down, you'll still be bothered by...

If I have two electric showers ....

...does each one have to have its own MCB ? Currently have one Mira Supreme in our en-suite, with its own MCB. The bathroom looks as though it was originally planned to have an electric shower as well; there's a mains pressure water pipe leading to the wall where the shower might have...
