Wardrobe light switch, 2 amp OK?

Hi, I'm looking at installing some lighting inside a wardrobe. The plan is to use a flourescent tube less than 20W. I found this switch which might be OK for turning the light on when the door opens: http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/FM143.html, but it says it's rated at 2 amps...

Thanks mod - that was an old thread I found on search that looked related I wasn't trying to hijack anyone else's party, I just didn't want to appear like I'm asking the same question again :)

    removing plastic window trim

I've got a question about removing the plastric trim around uPVC windows: recently fitted windows, recessed about 2 inches with a plastic trim in the reveal and then another plastic strip on the outisde. I need to remove these pieces of trim before plastering, but prefer not to damage them or...

    Altering a supporting stud wall

Thanks for that, sounds sensible. I think the existing studs are about 62mm deep (x 37 wide), with the plan of using two 50x125s as a lintel would that result in a height of 250 or 100? Also if the cut-out started at 2 foot up and was 1 foot high, would the cripple studs need to run from...

    Altering a supporting stud wall

yeah now I'm confused! Well it's a 70's terrace, hopefully someone can tell me what the construction is, it's definitely a stud wall as I understand it; plasterboard each side and hollow inside. Hopefully that means I can make the change without any problems.

    Altering a supporting stud wall

hmmm, that's what I thought, but if the floor joists run side to side, and the stairwell means that the bedroom floor doesn't run from one side of the house to the other then it must be supported by something :?

    Altering a supporting stud wall

I have a question about altering a stud wall, which looks like it is also a supporting wall. In a terrace house the stairs run from the front towards the back on the right hand side. To the left of this is the living room, and the wall is between the 2. What I wanted to do was basically...

    Why skim plasterboard?

Anyway know of the best way of dealing with feather edge plasterboard that has been papered (lining paper) to get it ready for painting? The paper doesn't look too good, visible joins etc. So the options are: - remove the old paper, with the risk of damaging and the plasterbard backing, then...

    Zannussi 1425 pauses mid cycle

Any update on this? My WJS1665W washer dryer does the same thing about 5 minutes into a wash. If you skip ahead to rinse it can empty and spin though. Worth getting it looked at or a lost cause? Ta Dae

I've noticed that this problem is now happening more. Sometimes the boiler makes a hissing noise which is quite loud and lasts for a few seconds. When it happens it now seems to do it continuously with a second or two gap inbetween. Can anyone suggest what I can check to determine what...

    Thorn M boiler noisy

Thanks for the response. The boiler has only recently started making this noise, its quite old so I am concerned something in it is coming to the end of its life. As I mentioned don't be distracted by my description of pressure release or valve, its difficult to describe the loud whooosh...

    Thorn M boiler noisy

Hi, I have a Thorn M boiler which has recently started making a noise which sounds a bit like a pressure release from a valve opening, it last for a few seconds and hapens maybe every few minutes at most. Don't be mislead by my pressure release description, I have no idea what is causing it...
