ok i'll try & guide you through it because you need some hot water, turn off the power to the boiler/pump put some towels under the pump, now you can either turn off the two valves either side of the pump or leave them open, take out the big screw in the middle (you will get water coming out)...

not as expensive as ripping up the floor & replacing half the pipework because the concrete or foam has eaten through the pipes, or the expansion/contraction has worn the pipes away causing a leak, yes pipe in pipe could have been used if there was somewhere for the connections/tees to have...

yep agree, however in the OP's case with a mix of plastic & copper it should be in a channel/duct & covering the pipes with foam is as ruff as a badgers a**e

except that it isn't a floor channel, this is what should have been used, it has a plywood lid & you floor straight over it

I would have a lot of issues with what they have done

can you post up some pics of the boiler & pipework, if he has done that with the floor & buried pipes in the wall, gods knows what he has done with the boiler & flue
