After a month without heating or hot water & for the last 3 days no water at all, I can now say yippee, it`s back on. I ended up changing diverter valve assembly & the inlet manifold assembly, I had to change the latter as the grub screw into the brass fitting that connects the two would not...

Finally got round to changing diaphragm today, taking the pump off much easier than trying to take diverter valve off, thanks Paul for that idea. Did not even take an hour to do. However, now the boiler fires up on hot water setting ( wouldn`t before ) but still no hot water, luke warm from taps...

I`m looking forward to this, there is not much I will be beaten on...

Hi Paul... the chap who was fixing the boiler has had to shoot of to spain to sort out his ill mother inlaw, so now it is back to me. I have changed the microswitch, your right, it only takes a minute. I have bought diaphragm kit and am eager to fit. I was informed to remove heat exchanger &...

    Alpha CB28, cold water

Sunday, still no hot water. I am in the process of taking the diverter valve off but have been stopped in my tracks by a very small phillips head screw on the bottom of valve, it just will not budge & I am fearful of ruining the head. Am off to buy a good quility phillips.......

    Alpha CB28, cold water

Hi Paul, my friend has spoken to a guy who knows everything there is to know about Alpha boilers, he works on them all the time. Everything points to a dodgy diverter valve, I am hoping to take it off today & will check heat exchanger also diaphragm. I`ll get you informed of progress.

    Alpha CB28, cold water

Hi Paul, The chap who installed the boiler came over yesterday (he is a friend of mine), he took the pipe off the fan, blew or sucked it & the thing fired up. So at least we have heating back on, but still no hot water. He thinks the problem may be with the diverter valve assembly. Can you tell...

    Alpha CB28, cold water

Hi folks, I am having a problem with my Alpha CB28 Combi. When I run the shower, a manual mixer, the boiler fires up fine. It will stay alight for varying amounts of time and will turn off. It then fires back up again within about 10-15 secs. Obviously during this interval the shower is...
