SDS Plus drill bit extensions? Longer than 1000mm?

SDS Max and SDS+ are completely different sizes. Although you can buy a SDS Max to SDS+ converter, you can not buy one the opposite way. Which, in this case, would render a SDS Max drillbit useless unless he went to buy a SDS Max machine. (Which generally speaking aren't cheap!)

    A bit steep?

Can you ask for a breakdown of his costs? Does seem very steep, especially since he's decided to replace parts which you never asked for. He should have consulted you about replacing the other valve. For all he knows you could have wished to call him out and paid the call out...

SDS Plus drill bit extensions? Longer than 1000mm?

Can't say I've seen extentions for SDS drills. Even if they existed, they would be wider than your 10mm drill bit (I assume its 10mm, not 10M :D ) Your best bet if you cant get a longer one is just like you said, to make a recess into the wall so you can get that extra 20cm depth to drill...

DIY loft conversion aside the electrician.

Looks like someone's been busy! Looking good. What kind of material is the green stuff made of, does it not pose a fire/fume risk?

Just finished my first junction box! :)

Hehe, It's not my work at all. It's what I discovered in the kitchen of the house I am working on here in Slovakia, 50 year old wiring with amateur addition about 5 years ago, it makes zero sense at all, there is no logical structure to the routing of the wires throughout the house and room...

    Kitchen New Ring

Get yourself a piece of paper and work out what kind of devices you might connect up and have switched on at the same time, and work out how many Watt's they will use. For example, deep fat fryer, 1500W, microwave 800W, extractor fan 150W, fridge 250W etc etc. Take that figure (2700W in...

Just finished my first junction box! :)

Don't worry, those two cores are aluminium, they will probably have welded themselves to terminals  No comments on the colour coding? It's done to BS101 (Bull Sh** 101)

    Ancient telephone wiring!

Just as a comparison, My parents live in a remote location in Scotland and we have about 60meters of overhead wire which goes over a field and between trees to the house, I enquired to see what it would cost for them to connect both ends and give us a new NTE5 box. Bear in mind I'd be doing...

boiler keeps switching off and on

Thermal overload cut-out protection? Are you sure the water is flowing through the hot water circuit, and there are no air locks? If I were you (Since you got a company to install it) I'd call them back and get them to fix it, it's part of the job. If you start tinkering with it...

two rooms into one - flooring problem has floored me.

Try a router or something to cut it free? Do you know what is under the 18mm of oak? You could cut close to the edge, down to say 15mm depth and try and chisel the rest out so you can join onto it? Are they single piece long planks or lots of little planks? You could just try and create a...
