Height of a REPLACEMENT consumer unit

My existing consumer unit in my bungalow is an old 4-way MK fused type about 6'6" from the floor above the kitchen worktop. I'd like to have it replaced with a modern consumer unit but I'm wondering whether the height would meet the latest regulations bearing in mind it's a replacement not a...

    Combi Boiler on Internal Wall

Ahem... can I just pop in before the bell goes for round two :) Thanks for giving me a few more ideas and things to think about. Nobody immediately said that mounting on the internal wall was a bad idea which was my initial enquiry so I'll go with that. Manufacturer-wise, I think I'll...

    Combi Boiler on Internal Wall

I think his preferences would be Worcester first, Glow Worm second. Without going to the bargain basement, I do need to keep the cost as low as is sensible to go. John.

    Combi Boiler on Internal Wall

It's certainly nice and compact. I'll mention it to the installer when he next gets in touch although I suspect you guys have your preferred models that you feel 'comfortable' piping up to so I'll let him have the final say :) John.

    Combi Boiler on Internal Wall

Hi, I'm in the process of having my 19-year old Combi (Ideal Classic) replaced with a modern condensing combi (either Worcester or Glow Worm, not decided yet). It's in a very small kitchen in a bungalow tucked in a corner mounted on the outside wall with the flue going straight out through...

    Outside water stopcock

I tried to read the "proper" meter while I was there so I could compare the two readings but I gave up. When I moved in, I gave the water authority the reading from the outreader so it'll be interesting to see my first statement.

    Outside water stopcock

For some reason, the metal label on the top had had a couple of 1/2" holes punched through it so I couldn't read what the label said and the chunks of polystyrene beneath the holes looked for all the world like some kind of slotted adjusting screws. The meter down the hole...

    Outside water stopcock

Thanks both. On closer inspection, what I thought was some sort of meter "head" turned out to be nothing more than a close-fitting polystyrene "bung" with a fancy label attached to its top. Once I'd slid it out, I could see the actual meter and a red 1/4 turn valve. Thanks again.

    Outside water stopcock

Hi, I've just moved into a property with a water meter. The internal stopcock is seized up and I need to turn off the water in the street. When I opened the cover outside, what I take to be the water meter "head" is where I expected the normal stopcock to be. I didn't prod around too much...
