Main problems with plastic pipe is it does look un-pro', no matter what anyone says. I was told by an old plumber that the customer is paying for a pro' pipe fitter. They don't want to look at the job and think I could've done that! So that's flexi tap tales out too..... Also plastic is not...

They still teach lead work. What a waste. We were taught sheet copper, ali and zinc work too. that was so valuable in the real world. It's a shame that the roofers have taken over doing lead work. Most of them are untrained and not too good at it.

Also Tony he has a torrent cylinder which is set to 60c we used to set them to 85c. As it's a thermal store. Then put a blender valve on the outlet to correct temp. I still don't think the valve is a fault. I think it's more likely to be a set up problem. The sales team at Daft often tell the customers that the system will suplement heating but they never did. It could be just not enough heat in cylinder to start with or no non return valve on the solar...

Hello Frank. I installed some copper pipe in a bathroom once and the customer had me remove it all below floor level and he took it all away to be GOLD plated! Looked horible! LOL. :wink:

U really need to badger them into returning. Try threatening them with watchdog. Always worked for daft energy. Or if they are clear skies registered contact them. If not get an independant firm to data log the system and take them to court with the evidence. Something sounds very wrong. Daft...

LOL. Daft Energy are not on the clear skies register. Their material cost is about £1500. They pay their fitters £250 and roofers the same. The CEO drives a shiney new Bentley! That's why they have such a quick turn-over of staff........

I've heard different things re evac tubes. some say best thing ever. some say the coating which is exposed to the atmoshepe degrades in about 5-8 years. Plus it's always pishing with rain in scotland.

Ok here goes. If you have a torrent cylinder, made be gledhills, the temperature should be set considerably higher on the controller about 85-90c. The water in the torrent heats the water as it flows through a coil of tube inside the cylinder, like a megaflow. The reason U experience a drop...

If you turned the water off to do work in the kitchen then most likely cause would be debris in between the washer and seating. This has most likely been flushed away now. Luckily it wasn't too big or hard so as to damage the washer.
