    Plastic Capping

Its a new build conservatory/ extension. Its blockwork with stud wall, the finished surface being about 40mm, apparently, from the surface of the block. Although the capping will not be seen, it is just from a pride in my own work that I wish it to be as neat as poss. Cheers, TS.

    Plastic Capping

Cheers 4 tips guys. Its ok not running it on surface, totally agree that would look horrible. The blockwork I am running it on will have a stud wall fixed to it. And as for the metal capping my OSG tells me it does need to be earthed if run less than 50mm below finished surface. Or have I missed...

    Plastic Capping

Hi All, used plastic capping 4 first time yesterday and it was **** The right angles looked rubbish, the nails wouldn't go into the wall (blockwork) it was just a nightmare. Any viewpoints/ tips on the practicality of use would be appreciated. Also, with metal capping, how would i earth the...

    Breeze Block Stable

Hi all, I need to build a horse stable out of breeze blocks for a friend. The dimensions I have been given are 12' by 12' by 12'. Seems a bit high to me, but there you go. While my brick and block laying skills are reasonable, I feel I need a fair bit of advice on this project. How deep would...

Mr. Bacardi Breezer, perhaps that wasn't the most helpful of replies. Whilst I respect your answers (in general) and the fact that you always contribute to the site, maybe you could have answered the question with a bit more fore-thought. Maybe Breezer, the Geezer wanted a little more help than...

    FORUM JUNKIE

O.K guys, I guess I asked for this by being a little Tongue-in Cheek with my original post. And thanks for all the tips, I am putting them into practice as we speak. But seriously, can anyone recommend any other electrical forums please. Cheers, TS.

    FORUM JUNKIE

Hi All, I have a problem. Since finding this site four or five months back I have become more and more addicted. It started off in small doses, maybe just once or twice a week. But before long I found myself looking at posts at all hours of day and night. I am now up to six or seven hits a day...

    EAL Domestic Installer Scheme

Thanks John and Ban for the help. Yes I do already have my 236 and 16TH (but it was 1995 when I did it so was still 2380 and not 2381 but think that should be ok.) To be honest I don't actually want to do the EAL DI course, but just sit the exam, which I heard is possible. Really it is just a...

    Dave Allen

Why the sad refrains? Thisold F***er will live forever. Or at least till the next one comes along. Dave Allen knew how to have a life, have a drink, have a smoke etc. The geezer was very funny, and his humour will continue to shine. And don't forget his puppet, Lord WhatsIsName...

    C&G2391

Paul, I totally agree with supersparks. Compared withthe 2400, the 2391 was a stroll in the park. If you get yourself half a dozen sets of past papers and answers, you will breeze it. As with all C+G exams the questions are on a roll-around basis and sooner or later will come up again. However...
