Prepping walls for paint post wall paper.

Interesting tool.. Blurb makes it sound impressive.. Dusty and noisy tho? Make sure you use a face mask m8. Maybe a bit OTT? I usally clean off paste as I strip, the walls are wet then and only need to wet with flat of brush ,, scrub the (6") brush in a figure of 8 to whip up the paste, push a...

    Removal of dado

Allso perhaps: Don't forget to run a stanley knife along each edge before gently trying a wide sharp bolster, sometimes it cracks the profiles all long, tho other times it don't. Thats when I really use the bolster  Good luck.

    Artex Peels: Relentless

When I paint bare artex my mist coat is thinned 50/ 50. Artex is very thirsty. The mist coat is left to dry properly. I usually get away with just one more slightly rounder (thicker) coat. How thin was your mist coat? From your first post I get the impression that your first coat was a bit...

Paint - Cutting In on Window Glass

You dont need to wait 8 days to paint over the 'bin.' What I was infering is it should not b disturbed i.e. cleaned/rubbed etc.. jut a gentle de-nib if needed. Though as lw says normal gloss is the normal way to go. After painting leave it alone, and several days later it will be a pig to move...

    Paint Drying on brush

Have you 'Pre wetted' the brush befre starting? i.e. simply dip brush in water to cover bristles for a few seconds, then shake out excess water so your left with damp bristles. When your not using the brush (even for a few seconds) keep the bristles immersed in the paint. Commen with water...

    patchy emulsion

After a mist coat. I always thin the subsequent coats a little to help flow out. I can't say I ever applied dulux trade matt unthinned. Cut in first, then roll keeping the edge 'green', don't roll till roller is dry keep it loaded. i.e apply like your not paying for the paint. No texting or...

    water based gloss

The only good thing with waterbased is the drying time. The non yellowing issue is void as by the time oil based yellows the waterbased is scuffed and dirty. Dulux '2010 ready' is solvent based.
