    Sunny Spain

Note that all mcb's are type C and with a 25A incommer, there is no effective discrimination. Its a good job the incommer is type C! In Spain, they seem to accept regular trips in exchange for a lower tariff. I don't think I would. F.

    Triton Madrid Shower problem.

The outlet temperature is determined by the water flow through the heater. If as you say, the outlet temperature is very hot, this can only be due to insufficient flow. I suspect that the over-temp trip (thermostat by outlet) is operating correctly, cutting power to the heater. This process...

Which type of bulb for Hob Hood?

"MES" lamps are never mains voltage, they are "Torch lamps". These are likely to be SES (Small Edison Screw) Frank

Supporting posts for a raised deck

Don't forget to checkout the planning permission. In this local authority, decking over 300mm above ground requires planning permission. I would think that this applies to all areas. Frank

What cable to use for a spur

I had a reel of that...threw it in the skip... What I really need is that stuff all the way back to the power station....imagine how good that would sound? Perhaps we could also get the generators re-wound with it too? and all the transformers ? Do you think it would be OK clipped to the 400kv...

    High voltage DC question

Have a look at what contactors with DC coils are actually available. I suspect that a 50v coil is going to be the only candidate for replacement. You might have to change one of the resistors to suit the operating current of the new coil once its resistance is known. Frank

rads getting warm when hot water only on

Take the valve apart and have a look at it. Usually, the actuator will come off, then you can remove the rotor part without disconnecting any pipework. If there has been crap inside, then look for wear or scoring on the rotor. Check that there isn't a pressure relief valve in the system that...

    Support posts for decking

If a raised deck is more than 300mm above ground, it requires planning permission. (Well it does according to my local planning office) For raised deck supports, I would set the posts on 100mm thick concrete pads at the bottom of your holes, then fill up with hardcore. Once connected to the...

You have already answered your own question. The two cable feeds cannot be combined. You will need a 2-way changeover switch. Frank

    TV interference

Only by virtue that their radiation pattern is relatively free from minor lobes. If the interferance is comming from the direction of the main lobe, the log will not be any different than any other type of aerial. Frank

    TV interference

Isotropic: "invariant with respect to direction". Do you mean "Ionospheric" ? :?
