    OK, can I check that manually? When the he is on but the boiler not firing, move the metal lever myself? Thought I tried that earlier but maybe not.

    The first zone valve - we have two of them, honeywells. Edit: 2 ports, not the 3 port pictured. Can't remember what the contract is - covers boiler and CH, but not drains etc.

    I forgot to update this! I contacted Honeywell and they posted me a new unit out FOC, despite it being well outside the warranty. Really excellent customer service.

    Duracells. Just firing off an email to Honeywell now. If I have to I will pay for a replacement controller, but I'm not really up for blowing another £120 on the whole thing...
