Cold rads upstairs - Bit odd...

In that case there is air in the system which needs to be bled out. The gauge is less sensitive when there is air in the system as air compresses easier than water Bleed out the air from the rads

Cold rads upstairs - Bit odd...

Bleed the rads with boiler off Tap the gauge whilst filling as they can stick sometimes Should be around 1 bar Does the upstairs have trvs that are stuck? Obviously if you bleed then you need to top up the pressure

    Thermostatic Radiator Valve Thumping

Absolutely I would change it free of charge. My mistake=My problem Wouldnt take very long anyways, probably without draining down The Trv should have an arrow on its body telling you which way to fit it,if it is bi-directional it will have arrows pointing to both valve openings

    boiler pressure question

Usually boiler pressure is set at 1 bar cold The red marker is there as an indication of a possible fault,BUT many are not set at any particular pressure on installation. Going from 1.5 bar cold to 2.0 hot sounds about right ,just as said maybe a little high at 1.5,nothing too serious though
