Recently called out to a Banner Homes flat where all visible pipe work was copper. Everything else was plastic. C H System was losing pressure and a stain appeared in the lounge I very neatly removed a corner piece of POSH coving to find a rodent had eaten through the side of a push-fit elbow :(

mad radiator - please please help

Yes if the pipes are tight against wood this will create an expansion noise. Sentinell is the stuff added probably. cutting a plastic bath panel

I always use a straight edge and sharp stanley knife, dont press too hard, concentrate on where you are cutting not how deep. And dont slip! But hacksaw will do it safer. Dont understand the reconnect part as once its cut thats it

    extra radiator problem

Sounds like air in the pipe still. You will also need to balance the rads to give a little more bias to the new one A couple of air bleeds would certainly help Try running with only that rad on (from that circuit) for a while it may push the air out after a bit

Powerflush microbore? - 6 of 15 rads cold

Would agree microbore much better with valve at each end. power flushing dosnt work overly well with microbore, especially with those valves Sounds a bit costly as said but there may be reasons for that on viewing If power flush is £400 ish that leaves £800 ish to replace valves and run a bit...

    Thermostatic valves

To cut off the olive use a hacksaw till nearly through, then use thin flat bladed screwdriver to prise cut olive open. This way you are less likely to harm the pipe If you need to go from 10mm pipe to 15mm valve ,you can get conversion olives that reduce from 15mm to 10mm,these will sit in the...
