    Flexicom 18hx ignition problem

I'll give that a try tomorrow. What I can't get my head around is once it's kicked in it will work fine for the rest of the day. It's that initial starting that's the problem

    Flexicom 18hx ignition problem

Hi Tony, when the engineer reset the combustion mixture he did indeed open it up and cleaned a lot of debris out, what looked like carbon dust I think he said.He didn't fit a new seal mind. Oh just to add,I had a mains gas pipe leak outside my property 3 years ago and a new length of pipe was...

    Flexicom 18hx ignition problem

My 7yr old Flexicom 18hx condensing boiler started giving me problems earlier this year.Basically it wouldn't ignite. My gas engineer couldn't find any problems except that the combustion reading was slighlty out.He re-set it and all was fine for a few months but it's started playing up again...

    Bifold door track

I'm not concerned about the doors really,it's the sliding mechanism of the track that I'm thinking about. If the doors aren't hinged at 90 degrees to the track because the frame isn't square,is this going to cause it to bind when opening ? Spose I'll only really know if I try it

    Bifold door track

I'm thinking of replacing a standard 78x30 door with a bifold like this one. http://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Skipton-Internal-Bi-Fold-Door-Clear-Pine-Glazed-4-Panel-1981x762mm/p/187575 My only concern is the door frame. It's a 1930's house so the frame isn't particularly square and there's a bit...

    LEC fridge freezer

I have a LEC TF5517 frost free fridge freezer. It was bought new in july 2013 Some months ago I started getting ice forming on the floor of the freezer. I got myself a thermometer to put in the fridge to monitor the temperature. I set the fridge to 4'c Now I've noticed that it stays at...

    Radio interference

It turned out to be the old laptop I'd taken in to set up the router. As soon as I plugged it in this morning the interference was back.Must have a dodgy power supply. Fortunately I won't be needing it again anytime soon.

    Radio interference

I don't know if this is the correct forum but...... Today I had broadband installed at work. Now my cordless phone doesn't work and the mains radio has bad interference. Am I right in thinking the cordless phone and the router are probably using the same 2.4ghz frequency and this is why...

    Where's the water gone ?

I've just come back from a week away. When I left I turned the stop tap off in the kitchen. When I turned it back on the cold water tank upstairs started to fill for about 5 minutes. I have no dripping taps or signs of leaks. The toilet is connected to the mains. Where's the water gone ?

    Cold water tank valve problem

Pretty sure it's the central heating header tank ball valve that's the problem. Cheers

    Cold water tank valve problem

Yes I do. I don't know whether this has anything to do with it but I've had low pressure from the hot tap in the kitchen for a number of years.Upstairs taps are fine. The central heating header tank is a bit of a bugger to access as it's in the loft

    Cold water tank valve problem

Yeh the new valve appears to be working. The header tank for the central heating has an overflow pipe that drops into the cold tank but that appears to be dry,but then again I'm not using the heating

    Cold water tank valve problem

I have a cold water tank in the bathroom. The other day I noticed water coming out of the overflow so went out and bought a new valve and float. Bent the arm to the same angle as the old one and fitted it. Turned the water back on and the tank filled to about 2 or 3 inches below the overflow...

    Floor for garden shed

Found a local supplier who has 8 x 4 sheets of exterior ply at £20 + vat so I'm going down that route. Will it need sealing/painting and if so what's the best way ?
