Have a look at the kits available in Maplins. Most relays have change over contacts meaning that when energised, one pair of contacts will be closed and when un-energised another pair of contacts will be closed. As Pork says, you could also build a simple circuit. Regards

You might want to check whether that MK unit has a faulty main switch if it newish. Have a look at Honeywell/MK web site. Regards

Good thread John. For all but new builds, then the liklihood is, that either/and/or the metal services (if these exist) are connected by supplementary bonding elsewhere in the house or have situations where metal pipes feed metal pipes connected to metal drain pipes or has a metal pipe running...

Perhaps you need to consider case where water comes into house inplastic, copper iinstallation throughout house but extraneous due to metal drain pipes/feeds to outside toilets etc? Regards

Why not try Wago connectors in the back box? Simply bare the wire ends, insert cables and snap the lever shut. Look up lever clamp connectors on the appropriate web site. Much easier if room is limited. Regards

Interesting John. If you feel you have to cover up the MET, does that mean you have to cover up anything else it is bonded to? Regards
