    Sleeving 3C+E

Yes, and of course you guys are right - and I'm the first to admit that I am a moron. But there is another moron out there, who the mail was addressed to - who hasn't bitten - perhaps he has learnt his lesson at last. Regards

    Sleeving 3C+E

Simon, I'm with you. Same as the label stating that there is wiring to two different colours - because they are morons they assume everybody else is too. Lets see which moron, in particular, responds. Regards

    Temp Controller

Have a look at the kits available in Maplins. Most relays have change over contacts meaning that when energised, one pair of contacts will be closed and when un-energised another pair of contacts will be closed. As Pork says, you could also build a simple circuit. Regards

    Static shocks

Ironic that it's called 'Static' - perhaps it should be called ' Dynamic'? Run a trickle of water from a hose placed at the top of the slide. Regards

Excessive electricity consumption 3 Bed House.

Yes, sorry John, you've already got it covered but trying to get OP to state exactly what he can see so there is no doubt. By that, I mean that saying there are only two cables into the CU is not the ssme as saying there are only two cables running from the meter to the CU and that there aren't...

Excessive electricity consumption 3 Bed House.

How many cables leave the meter (on the consumer unit side) and what do these go to? Regards

    Plug won't go into socket

More likely to be some dainty person treading on the pins of the plug and deforming these so that they don't fit? Regards

New consumer unit and part re-wiring.. how do you certify ?

You might want to check whether that MK unit has a faulty main switch if it newish. Have a look at Honeywell/MK web site. Regards

    More on meters and 544.1.2

Good thread John. For all but new builds, then the liklihood is, that either/and/or the metal services (if these exist) are connected by supplementary bonding elsewhere in the house or have situations where metal pipes feed metal pipes connected to metal drain pipes or has a metal pipe running...

    More on meters and 544.1.2

Perhaps you need to consider case where water comes into house inplastic, copper iinstallation throughout house but extraneous due to metal drain pipes/feeds to outside toilets etc? Regards

To crimp or not to crimp

Why not try Wago connectors in the back box? Simply bare the wire ends, insert cables and snap the lever shut. Look up lever clamp connectors on the appropriate web site. Much easier if room is limited. Regards

Exporting TN-C-S to outbuilding - again!

Hello BAS, are you back and with Regulations yet? In one of your earlier posts, you categorically stated that extraneous pipes can not be used to link MET's - have you changed your mind given OMS' s comments in the Other Place - would be interested to hear your views. Regards

Yet more on PME earth export

Interesting John. If you feel you have to cover up the MET, does that mean you have to cover up anything else it is bonded to? Regards
