Turning the Heating off stops the CH Pump

It sounds to me like it is still wired in part as per a gravity hotwater pumped central heating system ie The boiler is controlled via the hotwater on terminal and the pump is controlled by the ch on terminal via the room stat it's definitely a wiring issue Matt

Normal S Plan + water heating for swimming pool

Ok a quick sketch this is how it's done commercially Here the pool pump runs continuously while the pool is getting used (note the majority of the flow runs through the hex bypass) there is usually a temp sensor fitted as shown that controls the modulating valve supplying LTHW to the...

ACL Lifestyle 679H340-30l0 mid position valve woes!

the valve/programmer/system is incorrectly wired It should not motor on hw demand and if it is moving to H then you have power on both the white and gray which you shouldn't First,Are you sure you are turning the cylinder stat up and not down? Matt

Normal S Plan + water heating for swimming pool

actually thinking about it I'm not sure if you would need any relays as the pool pump usually runs permanently I will knock up a quick sketch to show how it is done commercially I cant comment on domestic installations so perhaps the Op could enlighten us on the plumbing arrangements Matt

    3-way valve problem?

Its nothing to do with the valve it's a problem with the boiler, cylinder stat, programmer or wiring If the problem occurs when set on central heating only and hot water only then unless you have multiple faults you can also rule out the cylinder stat Matt

Normal S Plan + water heating for swimming pool

all you need is one relay in parallel with the pools valve actuator to run the secondary pump wire the system as s-plan plus and connect the relay coil to the call for heat along with the pools zone valve Matt

do Drayton mid point actuators fail??

No it only means that you have some circulation, the above is not an adequate diagnostic Did he remove the head and inspect the impeller? because it seems you have poor circulation as Agile says some temp readings would be useful,
