Sounds to me like the second microswitch inside the actuator is permanently closed. Take the orange out of the wiring centre and make it safe, now select hotwater ,has the valve stopped motoring? if so the actuator is faulty. Matt

Howard both of the above quotes suggest that the valve has motored which also means that there has to have been power on the white the white is ultimately connected to the central heating on terminal which you are now saying does not have power......... Matt
