never said it would, I'm saying it is too high simply put If you have a deltaT greater than 20 degrees then it can only mean one thing the minimum flowrate req is not being met Matt

but the minimum flowrate @ full rate though the hex isn't 0.3m/s it is a touch over 0.45m/s which is going to give you a deltaT of 20c anyway Matt

but this would never allow the boiler to be used at its max capability any links to the data you found on it Dave? the performance curve would be good to find! incidentally webcaps recognises the model no when searching for a replacement and suggests an Alpha2 15-50! Matt

nope 0.3 l/s is not acceptable at 38Kw neither is a 30c differential Matt

The session must have expired for the link not to work or maybe it was only valid for my PC If you look above the pumps on the right of the webcaps page there is a drop down box for pump material, choose cast iron underneath that there is another drop down box for connection, choose threaded...

Regardless of the setting of your boiler output the flow through it is governed by two things 1 The system curve ( resistance to flow) 2 the pump curve ( flowrate to resistance ratio) Ie a particular pump will provide a certain flowrate which will decrease as resistance(head) to it...

Scroll down to the evotron 80 this has a Suitable curve http://uk.dabpumps.com/dep/60145405_Evotron_TS_ENG_DEF.pdf The inverter software is user friendly very easy to navigate is bms/0-10v compatible and You can pick them up for around the £270 mark...

Was that using the same figures? Try using the same figures but pick canned rotor / union / in the more option I also used max temp 80 degrees working temp 75 and min temp 30 I will have another look when I get in as on mobile at mo Matt

That may be, but it does not detract from the fact that even rated at 26 kw your pump does not have enough head to over come the system losses Your downstairs works because you have the second pump in series which increases the head ( why was it installed only serving the downstairs) You could...

As daves post above You definitely need variable speed Fezster ie the magma/ dab evotron or similar Matt

Hi dave we must have posted at the same time Must do it suggested a magma 25/80 for me Unless we are entering different data of course I used 1.633 for flow rate and 6.57 for headloss I also played around with the other variables and it still suggested a 25/80 Matt

I would say so, hence my earlier post, I don't know where Dave got the 25/100 recommendation from (enquiry, looking at pump curves or software) but I have just been on the grundfos website and their webcaps select tool even suggests a magma 25/80 They are a decent pump by the way DAB evotron...

    Three port valve help

I agree with Mick they need swapping but you really need to sort out the phasing colours ( brown = line / blue = neutral / black = S/L etc Anyway back to the functionality of things Referring to Micks post further above, as he said, number 2 on the stat connects to neutral Matt

    Three port valve help

agreed wired wrong at the programmer @ the programmer take the grey out of the CH off and reconnect it to HW off then try it we will presume for now that the cylinder stat is wired correctly (as it is not a colour scheme I would have used) Matt

Can't see it Tony, surely if it does indeed run at 70% for the first 50 seconds then it's 70% of the value set in d.0 not the unranged Max of 38kw otherwise range rating it down to 18kw (just under 50% of max) wouldn't make a difference to the frequency of s53 errors, but it does Matt

no its not the same sort of thermal stress as in your example the burner is off and the HEX is being cooled by the lower temp entering the return this is bringing the temperature of the hex down uniformly as in your example the flowrate is suited to the boiler, and if you had monitored the...
