Mystery hot tank overflow - any ideas/suggestions?

High pressure area? Had this once with a combination cylinder. At off peak demand pressure got to over 12 bar and caused ball valve leak, thus overflowing.

Would of had 3 port originally, then megaflo added with its own 2 port. If it didnt have 2 port then 3 port springs back to hot water, not safe.

Viessman Boiler Service - Warranty and Who Can Do It

As an installer I would say go with your installer of the boiler. Yes it is more expensive, but he may have more knowledge of those boilers than the guy at £35 IMHO Plus as your service is overdue the warranty may be invalid anyway.

This is best left to a registered gas installer, as those faults are concurrent with ignition faults.

the 400 series Vaillant, is an open vent boiler, and has top connections. If going down the vaillant route, then I would advise to get all vaillant controls, as they work well together.

    New Toilet Siphon Leaking

Did you make sure all of the old sealing material was removed before fitting the new washer. I have never used any sealant on those syphon washers. Maybe it needs nipping up a bit. A quick tip(maybe). Before fitting the cistern back onto the pan, fill it with water while supported over the...

    Kitchen Sink!

Souds like it could be an astracast sink, which is basically made of a very hard resin. The first one I ever did, I burned out two hole saws cutting into it. You will need a grit edged holesaw, if it is that tough. Graham

    salus rf330 room stat

Nothing to worry about. The timer on the boiler governs your heating requirements. So for example timer goes off at 8am, even if the stat is showing the flame symbol, the boiler will not light. All this means is that the stat has not reached the desiganted setpoint temperature, before the...

As already said, most likely the plate hex, and it can be cleaned. Removing it is a bit of a juggling act though, if you have never done one. If you do plan to do it yourself, then watch the pcb, when you take out hex, plenty of towels /kitchen roll needed, as these pcbs only need to sense...

Boiler & Water Service pipe replacement - Help!

If it was me, and I was getting the main replaced, I would be looking at an unvented hot water cylinder. If you get 30lpm coming into the house, you will get very good shower performance. Even a high output combi will only give you about 18lpm. assuming you have the space to accomadate an...

In my opinion, I would get a second opinion That does a tad on the high side. You seem to have answered your own question. When you say worcester specialist, do you mean worcester themselves? Yes they charge £230 for a fixed price repair, but I am not sure that secondary heat exchangers...

    Saunier Duval F30E losing pressure

When heating is on, does the pressure in the boiler rise quickly? The prv is supposed to lift at 3 bar. I would expect it to be the expansion vessel has either lost its charge, or the innards have perished. There is a topic in the faqs at the top of the front page, of this forum
