    Mixer tap on unbalanced system

Its only used by the missus to rinse her hair when in the bath so it doesn't have to be a high pressure, more a golden shower type force..... then again my prostate aint what it used to be ;o)

    Mixer tap on unbalanced system

Hi Seco thanks for replying but won't that still leave the problem of it being really fiddly to get the mix right from the tap when using the shower because the cold is at such a high pressure being mains fed. Wouldn't the PRV be a useful addition?

    Mixer tap on unbalanced system

Currently have a bath mixer/telephone shower tap on an unbalanced supply (mains cold and gravity hot) which causes the familiar problem of overflow from the cold water storage tank due to back pressure from the mains cold supply. I know its an illegal setup at present but can I put a pressure...

central heating vent going into F&E

Apologies to the moderator, it was only a slight diversion from the original posters problem and is relevant to a degree as it all ties in. Star I presume that the 22mm pipe out of the side of the F&E must be a combined supply and vent as it goes into the airing cupboard where it goes to a...

central heating vent going into F&E

ahhhh thanks again stardanny I just assumed the first pic showed his hot water vent and not the CH vent. Doh! Thought mine was a vented system but with there being no vent pipe to the F&E tank it can't be I guess? I can see the 22mm pipe which is the hot water vent going to the cold water...

central heating vent going into F&E

central heating vent going into F&E

With respect to tranhq's pictures above.... can someone tell me why his hot water expansion pipe is draining into his Feed & Expansion tank which is part of the heating circuit? Surely the hot water expansion pipe should empty into the cold water storage tank (usually the large tank) in the...

    mixer tap weak hot water?

You haven't said if your cold feed to the tap is from the mains or from a tank in the loft.... If its mains fed then you will end up with the back pressure filling your cold water tank and overflowing out the back/side/front(ie wherever your overflow pipe is situated!) if its left on long...

    Bath/Shower mixer problem

It happens in shower mode because the hot/cold supplies mix directly within the chamber of the tap unit whereas in bath mode the hot/cold outlets are separate.

    Bath/Shower mixer problem

Is there any alternative to a replumb like a pressure reducing valve onto the cold supply to the telephone shower or an impeller pump on the hot supply?
