    It is not a garage conversion, this is the front of the house. We have a separate double garage 3.5 feet to the right of the main house. All the neighbours houses have the meter boxes in the same place. See the box here from outside

    It looks like all the so called 'executive houses', like ours, have the meter box in the same position, so Lord knows just how many are like it on the estate. Really worrying eh? The builders are BRYANT and if possible I intend to publically shame them into doing something about this.

    There is an airing cupboard with HW tank and a landing above. Is there any way in which I could get the house insurance to sort this out with the original builders?

    I don't think rear entry with SWA cable would be an attractive option owing to the construct, with the toilet wall being half external and half internal. The distribution board is on the external part and the consumer unit is on the internal part of that wall, if that makes sense? Here's a...

    Thanks folks it looks like this needs to be urgently looked at by a qualified sparky, but given that this is a national house builder who do I have recourse to if they say they don't have records beyond 6 years? Where would the installers name be if anywhere? here is a better pic of the room...

    Thanks Adam it is the A100HE that I need. OMG New prices are ridiculous and it would be cheaper to buy a new CU!
