When you say that the wiring has not been touched, do you mean that that it has not been touched since the old boiler taken out and new one fitted. What controls do you have make and model etc. It definitely sounds like a wiring fault somewhere. Graham

Personally If you have the required mains flow rate and pressure, that is necessary for these high output combis, then I would go for an unvented cylinder and system boiler. Graham

Wherabouts is your boiler located? If you want to protect any pipes in exposed areas, then you would need to fit a pipe stat in conjunction with a frost stat.
