    Grohe Rapido T

I have used compression fittings which seems to be OK. Mine are in plasterboard and have set them up to test before I cover them up. plenty of tape on the 1/2" threads connecting to the mixer and plenty of joining compound on the compression joint. I have then switched to plastic to run back...

My alterations, starting with the garden.

That's quite a reasonable price for such a door. Do put pictures up when you have it fitted. I thought that might be the case with the letter box. I agree with not having a box in the door but have concerns about putting up an external one, not least I have to convince the lady of the house.

My alterations, starting with the garden.

What are you doing about a letter box? your old one seems to have one. I a currently looking for a new modern front door. This does look good, are they competitively priced?

    Bi-Folding doors

Should have gone to the ideal home show, here were loads of them. Grand designs show is soon so there may be a good selection there. Problem with the shows is you get the sales patter but at least you get to see the actual products.

diy wired alarm...is there an obvious choice?

Great thread and impressive pics of install. It has convinced me which system to install in our house. There was a veritas8 in before but cable has all been removed so need a replacement. I have seen a basic texecom24 kit for about £240 which should give us all we really need to start. My...

Urgh - one step forward, two steps back

Just to make you feel better we haven't even got any electrics yet other than a couple of sockets next to the fuse board. We do have have the underfloor heating working though as our first plastered room was a small utility/boiler room which has also has the pressurised water tank - so we...

    Cabling for TVs

I am just getting to the stage of putting the wires in for some of the upstairs rooms. Electrician is doing the electrical stuff but I want to but in the best I can to each room for the TV's. i will ultimately put in provisioning for TV's in 6 rooms. I am quite IT literate so will put in...

    Landing for Stairs

Thanks for the replies, I also believe it complies but nice to have some other opinions. The stairs are not changing much but there are some supple changes which ironically will make the stairs conform as they currently don't, I.e. decreasing number of steps form 14 to 13 so the tread is...

    Landing for Stairs

Hi, I am going to fit some new stairs and was wondering how to interpret the rules on landings for stairs next to doors. K 1.18 Diagram 7 (Draft 2013 Edition) I have spoken to building control and as I am not really changing the stair location there shouldn't be a problem however the rules...

Geberit or Grohe for a wall hung frame and cistern?

I was wondering why they came in different heights, this explains it, thx. In some household the low flush plate may be an advantage? Just ordered an 82xm height grohe cistern as it was going cheap on eBay and we are putting under a 90cm high window cill. I'll let you know my thoughts on it...

    New soil stack

Well I bought the parts and dug down the side of the manhole to put in the back drop. I had thought one of the inlets into the manhole was unused, as it was the old downstairs wc but i find a tee with on going to the old wc and the otherwise going to the rain water drain at the front of the...
