    EICR today

Are you sure it wasn't the washing machine giving you the 0.02 Mohms? I would have thought that a screw nicking the neutral in the box would have given you 0Mohm.

    Independent advice on certification software

I your situation I would use the trial version of Easycert and then check out the new NICEIC pay as you go software. NICEIC also do their own software but you have to buy certificate numbers and if you are not AC then I don't think you can use EICR forms or the full installation certificate...

Cost Of Installing Downlights - A Joke

I agree! But this says to me that fire read are not required where quite often others (NICEIC ( I know they are part of ESC!) and LABC) say they are. I showed annexe C to a builder to clarify 'robust construction' and it pretty much seems like every normal house.

What sort of kit / set up is needed to stream HD over Cat 6? Are we talking servers into the tens of thousands or is there more affordable stuff on the market now?

    Independent advice on certification software

Easycert allows you to overprint NIC certificates which works well once you've set it up to work with your printer. I don't bother with the NIC cents anymore, just print out the standard Easycert version. It's been years since anyone was actually bothered about seeing the NIC logo on a...

    Independent advice on certification software

I use Tysoft Easycert as I already had this on the computer and does everything I need. It does have some annoying things but on the whole it's very good. I have tried the ICertifi app and it is also good but I already had a database of cents on Easycert. ICertifi much cheaper as no initial...

    Independent advice on certification software

I try not to take paper notes at all now, that was the main reason for getting the iPad and it just saves me so much time now. Plus, there's no realising that you are missing a test result or piece of information once you've left site never to return as I usually try to make sure that the...

    spot the errors..

Indeed! Do you think we could have a special code on an EICR if there is a Proteus board installed, like... C1?!

    spot the errors..

I couldn't agree more RF, but surely that's just a limp wristed installer on the neutral bar in that pic rather than the fact that it's a Proteus?! I have pics of other makes of CU that I still happily fit that look the same as that (not my installs obviuosly!)

    spot the errors..

spot the errors... ...no need to look any further than the fact that it's a Proteus board!! I was foolishly talked into trying one a couple of years ago after being told that they've re-designed them and they're really good now..! Never again. Should have stuck to my guns and, like you...

Advice re replacing grid dimmer switch please

[/url] If you are able to let me know how to get these in an MK grid yoke without removing the clip in insert from the dimmer module I would be truly grateful! The dimmer is bigger than the yoke which means you cannot simply click it in when attached together.

Advice re replacing grid dimmer switch please

The touch dimmer you have linked to is a Danlers dimmer and they are good.

Advice re replacing grid dimmer switch please

To get the Richmond dimmer out you need to take the knob off the front then unscrew the retaining nut. this will release the the module from the grid frame. I don't think you can pop these out from the frame without doing this. Make sure the power to the switch is isolated of course! The...

Or you could get a fan that is constantly running at a low level and then boosted either via humidity sensor or switch, like the Vent Axia Lo Carbon Centra or one of the Airflow models.
