    small things...

Classic! But probably better quality than some of the cheap tat on offer these days! Not as good as straws for earth sleeving though!

Wiring in a TV off the lighting circuit?

I've done this (awaiting someone to point out a reg I've contravened...). I put an FCU with 3a fuse before the socket and a label on the socket stating TV only. Householder informed of the arrangement and noted on cert...couldn't think of any more things to do to make it acceptable other than...

2 security lights wired to single plug...

Use a 3amp fuse. I've not looked at the links but try not to come in the top of the box and use nylon glands for each cable entry. Clip the cables neatly to the wall and leave a drip loop if you can.

    LED Lighting in bathroom

I've only ever heard good things about Halers. I've not installed the dimmable version and only installed 2 of the normal ones in a shower cubicle but they do seem very good.

    LED Lighting in bathroom

I would say expect to pay around £15 - £25 for a good quality LED bulb, plus cost of the downlight fitting. Or, around £40 and upwards for an integrated/all in one LED downlight. Philips Master are very good. They do a 2700k (very warm white) which works well.

Supply & Fit Replacement Consumer Units - Reasonable?

Give the guy a break! The price looks very reasonable, and about right if there are no major remedials to be carried out. If we lived in the ideal world then yes, every CU change would have the testing and inspection carried out in advance and everything would be made perfect before the...

    Brick lights/extending cable

I think this is the one but may be worth a call check. I'm sure it's available elsewhere but not sure who from. http://www.mr-resistor.co.uk/item.aspx?&t=633&r=686&i=7336&a=1

    Brick lights/extending cable

Crimp and heat shrink. You can get heat shrink that also melts some kind of adhesive giving a really nice waterproof joint. Or some carefully applied self amalgamating tape over the cripmed connections.

5 amp socket on a 6 amp circuit

Ah, I see now, I was actually referring to the dimmers when I said TP extension leads! So, on each of those dimmers can you control the levels on each individual socket outlet? Not seen that set up before. (sorry OP for unrelated queries!)

5 amp socket on a 6 amp circuit

Are they essentially TP extension leads?! 2 sockets per phase for each MCB, what size breaker is in there?

    6mm cooker radial

I didn't say I have, or would use them in a 'maintenance free' capacity.

    age of installation

Interesting table. Where is it from?

    Extending a circuit.

If you have access to the floor above then chase up the wall to the ceiling void, lift the floor above and run cables through the ceiling above and drop down again.

    6mm cooker radial

I know what you mean! I felt the same when I first decided to use them for a cooker circuit! Never really like jointing circuits anyway unless I have to but have used these on 3 or 4 cooker circuits in the past couple of years...no call backs yet! 2 NIC assessors have said to me that they...
