Dont have the insulation yet but ill give it another go today.. I got the plumber to put pipes into ground to save me cutting the insulation sheets... I cant use a wacker plate either because of pipes below sand.. With hindsight I would have just concreted the floor and had all the pipes laid...

I got it as level as i could.. plumbers came in after and I asked them to bury the pipes so a lot of it got dug up again

I guess your right about just getting it fairly level... but also, its just that the concrete is the self leveling stuff, and I am reassured by the guys going to lay it that I will get a final finish so I also have to be bang on with the level as well, it needs to be finished just right as I am...

Im going through regs.. I have to put a minimum of 100mm concrete... with the way im building the sub floor.. brick rubble and earth to fill as much of the void as poss now i need to put 150mm hardcore , 15mm sand , dpc, 150mm polystyrene , dpc, concrete.

OK thanks... never knew polystyrene could damage plastic.. there will be the DPC between the cables and the polystyrene and I would think the electrician should put the cables through some type of channeling.. the polystyrene shouldnt damage the DPC.. will it? Yeah I forgot about the sand.. do...

Not sure what you mean, how can it damage cable insulation..? it will have a full rewire.. any cables and pipes for plumbing will probably go underneath insulation More space for insulation means less hardcore I need to shovel in..
