Good Christmas present for my Dad??

I'm looking at buying my Dad the screw driver set in the link. He is an electrician, but at 61 pretty much retired. http://www.dm-tools.co.uk/product.php/section/5292/sn/WER006148 He does like his Whiskey but I've bought him that much over the years he can't get any more in the pantry, and...

    Which Car?

Never scrapped a car, but does seem a waste tbh. If the FRV gear box and clutch are anything like in the Civic, then you'll be pleased with such a good combination. I have a 2.2 EX Civic, and can't really complain at all. Only thing I don't really like is I find the ride a little bit sloppy...

    Average gas/electric costs

You don't need to be a customer, but I think it may have finished now. It was limited to 5,000 people or something like that. It was rolls of 100mm and 170mm

    Nc4200 dead?

Is it safe to assume it's a HP NC4200? What OS are you running? Pretty sure these came out of the box with XP. Try booting in safe mode, go to start, run and type in msconfig. Have a look under the startup tab and have a look for things you may not recognise or things you don't want...

    Leather sofa

A steaming hot towel is supposed to be good too. I can't remember the exact method, but it goes something like wetting/damping a towel, putting in microwave (errr) so it is steaming hot and then put on the stain and leave a few minutes. Should then in effect lift the dirt. I use a leather...

That's high, snico. Is your house occupied most of the day? I dread to think what our will be when Wifey is on maternity leave.

Flippin eck you lot have good energy bills. My Wife is paying about £77 a month for gas and electric combined in a 3 bed semi. At the moment she is about £100 or so in credit. There are only 2 of us and we're out all day at work.

Cat5e RJ45 surface mount on skirting or wall

You just want to have a bunch of cat 5 cables by the modem, and switch between each one when you move room? Why not get a router to connect to the modem, and then plug all of your cables in to save the inconvenience. What if you have another computer connected in the future too.
