i wasnt saying megger would lie i just meant how accurate is reading as the jaws have a centralising bit and wondered how critical it would be to have a true reading on a flat twin & earth cable, has anyone used it?
lol yes two jubilee clips two piece of aluminium tube things piece of flat braided steel that squashes between the armoured braid and the jubilee clips and.......... a pairs of polythene gloves :D
well if you loosen the accesory box you can use a mini clamp meter and clip it around one of the live conductors, i have done this to test immersion heaters inside the switched spur, otherwise outside say a twin & earth the answer is no
i`ve used the resin kit, rexel senate electrical wholesalers keep them.
it comes with a tropedo shaped box, connectors, tape and a resin pack which you mix and pour into box takes about 15mins from start to finish
only other thing is do it with power off, cant see if the earth is connected of the three core, so make sure it is especially if your lights require an earth, let site know how you get on :)
well you should prove that the blue is neutral and the brown in L1 is live but it probably is so if you put the brown of the three core in L2 and the grey in the block with the blue wire, (you should put some blue oversleeving or blue tape on the grey) then one of the three core cables outside...
what we realy need to know is how many cables there are at each point, is the brown in the L1 terminal top right a single & earth cable or a twin cable etc
no they are not hiding anything, the socket was behind a breadbin so was never needed realy or used, they had used it a few times but people being people it was just a "we`ll get round to it" thing, they werent that bothered when i showed them even
just added 2nd image to link, under the slot in oven 2 x 2.5mm old colours with 1.5mm flex of the oven, nice so close to the gas hob connection just to make it interesting, its like :-

went to my friends earlier, was told not to use a socket as it always trips the RCD opened it up all seemed fine then found this under the kickboard
i phoned the kitchen company who did the work 3 years ago and the electrician now lives in australia, yeah right
