    Panel heaters - removal, and swapping

    hi J, as john says they could well be storage heaters which are very expensive and it may be cheaper to repair the faulty one than replace it. the supply to storage heater only becomes "live" overnight when the electricity meter changes to a cheaper rate.

    hi Rolley, you know the two core red & black in the upstairs switch if you put those across a normal light switch com & L1 does the light come on and work as normal? this will prove the cable coming down from the light is intact, if you know what i mean.

    well it does matter which you use, i always use the proper brown as the common in a 3 core & earth cable others must be brown sleeved tho. two core strappers should realy be twin brown so these dont matter

    well there isnt any real control on these storage heaters just a flap on the top which allows heat to escape slower, the front of the heater is always hot tho,(untill it cools down that is) inside, if you dont know, are concrete sort of blocks that heat up using cheaper electricity at night...
