Is it worth making a fuss over?

All, Thanks for the advice, just what I needed. At one stage I went back outside at 21:30 last night to double check measurements and it was about 55mm out of line over 3m. My concern wasn't on the outside, as this can be mended with thicker render, the concern is the knock on effect inside...

Is it worth making a fuss over?

Thanks Stuart. To be honest, the more I.ve been thinking about it, the more I feel it should be redone. Just that one wall. Will put it forward to him in the morning.

Is it worth making a fuss over?

Okay Stuart et all, These pics were taken earlier when it was still light, and don't exactly show down the side of the house. It's the wall on the alley side that is slightly off plumb. As you will hopefully agree, the rest of the job looks decent to me.

Is it worth making a fuss over?

None of the above deluks, but from Europe. As you say, that shouldn't matter. I saw some of thir previous work and had references, which were good. Certainly more than 30mm out over the three metres. More like 90 to 100. Simply, when they started on the furthest corner in question, it wasnt...

Is it worth making a fuss over?

Hi guys, Well the bricklayers started on thursday. Five of them for a small 3m out extension. Had to leave half way through the day and was amazed when I came home at 7 and they were still working. Prob 3/4 done in one day. All in all, it looks very good apart from a few minor things I...

    Optimal bricklaying mix

Hi guys, Very sorry as I know this is a frequently asked question. After a rushed few days to get everything ready for the brick layers which start tomorrow, I'm ready and excited. So that I can keep an eye on them and not get messed around in any way, what is the ideal sand, cement...

    Tying new dpc into existing

Just searching the Internet on the subject of joining dpc and not finding much. What I am finding is worrying me a bit, hope it isn't an area my research didnt give enough attention. I'm reading about cavity trays and requiring 100mm overlap and dpc tape when joining dpc. I assume this is for...

    Tying new dpc into existing

Hi guys, Drains laid this weekend. Thought the muddy work after the foundations was done, but a mornings of rain, meant a lot more mud. Any advice on how to tie the new dpc into the existing. This is not a solid slab extension, I'll have suspended timber floor with Oversite. My question...

    Two quick questions.

Sorry guys, just realised my explanation on the drain may not have been clear. I'm proposing that the waste pipe drops vertically, then has a Ben at say 45 deg to move it about 2 foot further along the wall and then vertically down again. Coming down the wall at 45 deg is I suppose a...

    Two quick questions.

Hi guys, Two quick but urgent questions please. To avoid having an underground bend, even if very slight, is it acceptable to have a 45 deg bend in the down pipe for the toilet foul on the outside of the house? I can't see why not. also means that where the down pipe enters below ground...

Are Engineering bricks any good for facing or to be exposed?

Thanks for the advice guys. As an aside to this and talking about DPC, the sides of the extension will essentially have the dpc just below the neighbours patio level and the alley pathway. I noticed where I have broken into the existing render, that the existing house appears to have a menbrane...

Are Engineering bricks any good for facing or to be exposed?

Hi Guys, Just a quick one before I place an order today. My bricklayer has suggested using engineering bricks up to DPC level for our rear extension. I will have 6 coarses in total, but about 3-4 above ground level. Just wondering whether these engineering bricks are any good visually if...
