It seems that all the hotpoint gas hobs now have this ventilation requirement in there instructions. either they are very dangerous gas hobs or hotpoint has gone mad and dont want to sell domestic gas hobs.

check your installation instructions carefully, someone cant be interpreting them correctly it is very unlikely a hob of 8kw requires this sort of ventilation, if the hob was installed and then the instuctions removed or lost then you would use bs5440 which would say it was ok.

Reduce the pressure by putting a hose on a drain point and letting some water out of the heating system, or open a radiator air bleed point till pressure drops,(very messy). prv will need to be replaced if it drips when the pressure is back to normal.

what do you mean by little hot water ? poor hot water production or poor water flow from the taps.

I might not be able but there are people out there that can. You can purchase a pda designed to hack and access wireless networks. The only safe wireless network is one that is turned off. At least with a wire you can block all ports into you network.

Ok then. Check everything on this boiler according to the manufactures instuctions, if the customer tampered with the gas valve, who knows what else they have tampered with. remember after you leave it you now except responsibility for it. if they have done something dangerous and you miss it...

look for the customers tool kit and take it away! Then sell him a new boiler cause he mucked that one up and left it a risk to life and property. 3 grand should cover it. :)

Clever little boiler senses the flow temperature and turns it off when it goes over the set temp then shuts down and goes into pump overun.

surely thats a fail safe control and used as a control would cause the boiler to overheat and eventually damage the boiler.

isnt the requirement a boiler interlock , something that turns off the boiler when there is no call for heat. only way i can think of is a room stat or stats. Any system with trvs and a bypass can run constantly.

Get an experienced engineer to install a wireless room stat. 1/2 hour job wireless stat about £50 ,still work out cheaper that electrocuting the plasterer. never leave a live wire terminating in brick or plaster as when it becomes damp the whole wall becomes live.

let him get and use a mobile phone to connect not the best way or cheapest but no hassle or worry for you.
