    Danfoss ret-b thermostat

The "chrono" setting may be a little more efficient because the house is less likely to be overheated due to overshoot of the thermostat. The main advantage though should be a more constant temperature. Try it and see.

changing a drayton stat to a horstman drt2 programable

From your description, it sounds like the connections you need are: 1 = heating (red) to DRT2 NO 2 = cooling (black) to DRT2 NC 3 = Line (red) to DRT2 COM The neutral and earth connections are not used and should be stowed away connected into in a two terminal choc block.

changing a drayton stat to a horstman drt2 programable

What model of Drayton mechanical stat do you have and to which terminals are the wires currently connected?

    Room Thermostat

Are these the connections at the programmer or the thermostat? It seems you need to restore the wiring back to how you originally described it. The Honeywell is very easy to fit, requiring just two wires.

    Room Thermostat

If the heating is on when the stat is turned down, does the heating go off when you turn it up beyond 18/19, or does it have no effect at all? If the former you may have just connected it incorrectly. Having looked back at your previous posts it seems you might not have restored the wiring...

Vokera Unica Programer and Combi Stat Problems

Yes, when connected correctly. I'm assuming it's a wiring problem because you say it has not worked since the rewire. Has your plumber been able to check the wiring between the boiler, programmer and thermostat? Does the programmer appear to work i.e. click on and off?

Vokera Unica Programer and Combi Stat Problems

Have you asked the electrician who did the rewire how he connected the room stat/ time switch? He should have checked that it worked correctly. If for some reason you are unable to connect the system as per Section 8, Fig 40, you could replace the room stat with a programmable stat which will...

Vokera Unica Programer and Combi Stat Problems

Do the time switch and the thermostat independently turn the heating on? If so, they must be connected in parallel. The time clock and room stat contacts should be connected in series as shown in Section 8, Fig 40 of the Vokera Installation manual.

    Thermostat envy

1 to A, 3 to B, 4 tape up. It's the neutral connection that is not needed.

    do i need a thermostat

I would suggest you go for a programmable thermostat. That will replace the time clock function and add a thermostat that should improve comfort and efficiency. It will probably be easiest to install a wireless unit because you probably won’t have wiring installed for a room thermostat. A good...

Yes. It's in my reject and defunct electricals cupboard.

    programmable room stat

I wanted to do the same thing and first put in a simple and cheap Horstmann DRT2 programmable thermostat. However, its temperature control characteristics were very poor; worse than the mechanical thermostat it replaced. I replaced that with a Honeywell CM907 which is an excellent device and...

    Thermostat faulty or normal operation?

I think this is normal operation. The RET B incorporates chrono-proportional regulation which means that, once up to operating temperature, the stat cycles the heating on and off such that the time averaged (chrono-proportional) output of the system balances the heat loss from the house. During...

Help wiring Siemens REV200 room thermostat

You need to connect red to L, yellow to L1. The blue wire is a neutral connection that is not required for the REV200; and nor is the earth.

    Honeywell CM291 wireless range

It is normal for the heating to be off some of the time even though the thermostat is demanding heat (flame symbol ON). Quoting from the user guide: Symptom: The thermostat’s LCD display shows a (flame) symbol but the heating does not switch on. Remedy: The heat demand is sent to the BDR91...
