Lets have a piccy of the offending item from where it enters the building to the meter and onto the CU and if you feel macho a piccy of the CU without its cover if you feel safe popping open the covers

i had 1 light out upstairs now i have 4 out

I'd head up into the loft and start checking nothings come lose when you tugged on the cables to get a bit more slack just kill the power and get a good torch and some old clothes and get checking so start where the power comes up from the CU and work your way from box to box checking...

Is there a Tool for measuring the CSA of wire

spots spelling mistake and laughs knowing full well that for the next 1000 years every post will be checked and mocked for spelling accuracy :p but its a nice device that i've been unable to find a similar thing for, its a basic device that just magnifies the size on a scale but it does it...

    Seperate radial cct or not

Got the fridge freezer ran off its own circuit here and that at least should something trip the ring circuit i wont wake up to a freezer worth of mush, but since it about a foot away from the CU it wasn't exactly much effort other than drilling a hole to run the cable

Overhead power to 19" equipment rack

One of the things i've noticed with some UPS's is their start up current draw when power is restored as we've had some that state a 16amp breaker is fine but the initial load will be a bit too much for a 16amp breaker as the attached kit fires up and it starts to recharge the battery at the same...

Overhead power to 19" equipment rack

What are you trying to power? probably you can run it all from a single 13A spur if its networking gear and maybe some 1U servers but it depends on the load // not a sparkie but an it guy who has spent enough time in the infrastructure design to know the site sparkies number when needed but...

    Leaking sealant around cutout

New cutout fitted, but was a bit scary when they're using a blow torch to melt all the old pitch off the cables about 2 feet from the gas meter, they didn't upgrade it to PME (currently TT) but the cutout has space for it so i'd imagine it'll be ready for it should they decide to upgrade the...

    Leaking sealant around cutout

Just had a look at my parents cutout while i was grabbing some stuff from the cupboard and noticed the sealant was leaking onto the pipework beneath it, is it worth ringing up the DNO to get the cutout sorted as its still the original 1930's one?
