what sort of things does the Baxi course cover ? I have heard there are 3 days, 1 on electrical, 1 on combi and 1 of diagnostics. Maybe just the dartford branch is bad then!! I have heard mr combi is good, but haven't been myself. Why so many bad reviews on here about him?

what do yoiu use yourself to descale them ? I have just heard so many people saying cleaning them never cleans them fully and a new one is better off all round.

descaling plate heat exhcnagers is not very good in my opinion, better off replacing them, but it's your call.

can you hear anything run or trying to run ie pump / fan when boiler is operated ??

new pads haver co detector box on them, not sure if all do though

the engineer did well checking room level CO with his F.G.A.

how do you mean? ever been on it?! i have beenm on a few manufacturer courses, and whilst they are ok, none of them do actual fault finding/hands on testing / replacement. well on the worcester cdi range course i did some hands on and used their card to test components but in general...

I disagree Agile - if the primary flow switch (for heating demand) was jammed in the on position it wouldn't make the boiler fire all the time, as there would need to be a demand ie from programmer/timer first to allow voltage (via the pcb) to activate the ignition sequence via the primary flow...

heard the baxi is rubbish (now any way) - abosulte junk I was told

just leave the pump speed as it was and see what happens

may not be enough dry head on the vent - and the pump may be too close and so pumps over a bit when turned up.

does it lockout on hw or heating or both?

Hiya all Have any of you been on the Gastec combi boiler basic and advanced 2 day training course? If so, is it any good? worth attending?

Has anyone heard of this before? Apparantly it's to do with the old W Plan, 3 port divertver valve. Is this when the valve stickins in the htg port open position and so hot water then when on heats up the rad circuit?
