could be some air in system, have known before this knockos out pilot via the overheat interrupter - or the pump could be slow/failing or a dirty system. Try turning pump speed up and see what happens? sometimes if pump is failing/running slow and causing an overheat - turning pump speed up...

is the boiler stat turned up? continuity across boiler stat? water in system ....

with no power to the air pressure switch / fan I'd suspect PCB wa faulty - relay on board may be fauly as suggested before

I did that on my mum's old boiler a year or so back - after holding the gas button in for well over a minute, the pilot stayed on for some reason - and it lasted a good 3 months until the boiler was replaced. Does anyone know why this happens - ie holding the gas button in longer somehow...

if the gas valve is modulating - check the operation of the modulatuing solenoid too. check every component

ok have you chedk the fan (spinning freely) - resistance of the windings? air pressure switch - working ok/tubes not kinked at all / flue clear / venturi fully clear etc? what's the ignition lead like? electrode itself? rectification probe all ok not dirty/misaligned etc? check...

has the boiler always been like this? could be a pump overrun issue? could be a blocked manifold somehwere in the system....

try checking the pump is running properley?

some combi's may be sent to lockout with these sympstoms too

no would need plumbing to be re-arranged a bit - but without seeing your pipework it's hard to say if it is the cause or not where your tank is in the loft, there are 2 pipes going/coming from it - follow these down into your system (near the cylinder usually) and then tell me where the pump...

could be drawing air in via the vent - and it's getting trapped there, at probably the highest level in your system

is the pump installed after the vent pipe or is there another feed pipe in between?

where the air vent is that you keep venting, is it on the flow or return pipe form the hot tank? (top or lower pipe)?

yes they will be then after the pump is there no other valve installed on the flow pipework?

the new rad check that and the pump unions - but see my other post above

where is your vent pipe in relation to the pump? have you got gravtiy hot water?
