Vaillant 637 Ecotec plus - air bubbles in system

Thank you DP for your reply. When you say a misstep what do you mean? I did ask the Vaillant engineer why I needed an external by pass when the boiler already had an internal bypass and he said the way the pipes were fitted to the boiler didn't provide enough by-pass and was probably why I was...

Vaillant 637 Ecotec plus - air bubbles in system

thank you for your replies. Harry Bloomfield - I had the same idea as you. But the boiler power setting has been reduced to 15KW from auto on a 37KW boiler to heat up the house more slowly. Usually takes about 30 minutes now to get to target flow of 60C. Problem I have is when the heating...

Vaillant 637 Ecotec plus - air bubbles in system

Update - gas in radiator not hydrogen. After almost 4 weeks of bleeding no more gas in the radiator so I'm assuming gas was air that just took a while to bleed from system. But problem now is if all air removed from system not sure what is causing loud banging in another upstairs radiator...

Vaillant 637 Ecotec plus - air bubbles in system

First hydrogen test was negative. Will repeat tomorrow. To access the valve cap I assume I will need to remove boiler cover - will need to get professional help for that.

Vaillant 637 Ecotec plus - air bubbles in system

thanks - will test for hydrogen. Still trying to figure out if this issue is connected to banging pipework near other upstairs bath radiator (banging loud in morning when system goes on but some banging when system in pump overrun). No air in this radiator - lowered power of boiler to 15KW to...

Interesting article - looks like adding a deaerating device to the heating system could make sense

Vaillant 637 Ecotec plus - air bubbles in system

Thank you sirocosm and Harry Bloomfield. I have noticed the amount of air released each time is less after 3 weeks so you both might be right. I'm trying to figure out of this issue is related to loud banging in the pipes near my other upstairs bathroom radiator, particularly in the mornings...

Not tested gas for hydrogen. Will try this. Expansion vessel for the hot water is ok but didn't think this was linked to central heating.

Vaillant 637 Ecotec plus - air bubbles in system

Thank you again for you replies. I never had this issue with my previous two boilers and I have lived in this house with the same pipework for almost 25 years. There is a possibility the boiler is the issue. I have just got my guarantee through after two years - plumber forgot to register the...

Vaillant 637 Ecotec plus - air bubbles in system

thank you for the replies. iateyoubutler - I put in a new boiler 2 years ago and have been having this issue. Went from vented to unvented and renewed mains pipe into house. Put in 3 new vertical radiators as a part of an extension on the first floor. Plumber originally thought boiler was...

Vaillant 637 Ecotec plus - air bubbles in system

General question to Vaillant engineers - is it possible for the boiler to create air bubbles in a sealed system. Reason I ask is i'm bleeding air from the same radiator every night for the last 2 weeks. It's a new vertical radiator on the floor directly above boiler. Wondering if installing...

    Banging Central Heating pipes

Ticking and clicking is what I would normally expect - had it with last system but was not a big deal. My issue is definitely banging - it's so loud in the morning have to switch offending radiator off. Still hear some banging but not so bad. Will try placing screwdriver against valve when I...

Thank you for your reply. Yes has thermostatic valves. I have already tried that but made no difference.

    Banging Central Heating pipes

Before I ask my question some background on my heating system. Installed Vaillant 637 Ecotec boiler two years ago when I had my garage converted into a room. Had underfloor heating installed into garage and a new vertical radiator installed in room above. Went from a vented to unvented system...
