    am I reading your post right that you have 2 showers on one circuit ? I would say that unless the cable supplying the two showers from the fuse box is at least 16mm and protected by an 80 A fuse [ very doubtful] then No you cannot run two 9.5kw showers off the one circuit. They are 2 fixed...

    Sparkyspike. The Contractors wont be allowed to touch the overhead wiring , and if they do decide to then there could well be one almighty Bang ! I think the Electricity supplier will only deal with the person who is registered to the meter...I.E. Karen.

    Hi Karen tell the Electric Company the same as you have just stated here. You will have to arrange for one of their Surveyors to call out so as you can go over your requirements. Dont think I have ever seen the box mounted at Floor level though...could be a precaution agaist flooding etc ...

    First We need to know what wiring you have at your switches at present....is it one T&E at each....is it multiples of singles etc. Then what type of wiring have you got at the lights ..is it Loop in or singles.... More info needed , but you are probably going to have to run additional wiring...

    Hi Charlie you have gone about things the correct way, The DNO were a bit petty minded refusing to install an Isolator at the same time though ! In practice many Electricians will break the seal and pull the fuse themselves...this is illegal but is understandable due to all the hassle...

    Do as Coljack advizes. The usual connections are. Red ; terminal L Yellow : teminal S/L Blue : terminal N ..But if in doubt follow the manufacturers instructions after positively identifying the wiring set up .

    I recently did some downlights with loose fill granular loft insulation above them...these type of covers arent any good for that type of insulation. I had to section of with timber between the joists at each light..a real pain. anyone know of any covers / boxes on sale for this situation.
