    Plaster onto wooden lintel?

Either go with the mesh idea or you could try painting the beam with unibond and a sand mix which should give a course finish when dried and then skim with a one coat plaster Thats what i would do anyway

    1 or 2 coats of multi-finish?????

Yep i always put 2 coats on and always do a fresh mix for each coat ,the only time i ever did 2 coats from the same bucket was either a very small wall or if i ran out on the first coat and just needed a hawk full to finish the wall .

    Best/Recommended Skimming plaster

Im afraid i was always taught to do 2 mixes and that 1 coat was done by amateurs so that is how i have always worked . I look at it like this : on a large wall it will take longer to go over the first coat filling in etc than it does to mix another guage and lay it on and the finish will be...

    corner beads

Yes you would if its causing the corner to break away ,just make sure its well seated and you have an even amount the whole length of the bead and dont leave any protruding through the bead or when it goes off it will knock the bead off when you try and remove it

    Tyrolean/ Render Repairs.....

Noseall is pretty much there with the answers but i would just add that you need to make sure anything that is remotely loose or sounds hollow you need to get off and then any repairs you do will not be in vain You also really need to have a bit of a play around with the mix of the tyroelene...
