It's a Windows error. You should be able to correct it by booting from the installation CD and choosing the 'repair' or 'upgrade' menu options. These will replace damaged system files but won't change any of your settings.

Did you change your browser's security settings to delete 'cookies' when the browser is closed, or delete browsing history which could have also deleted saved login data?
