So I went in the loft today to see how things are working, the bathroom hot water pulls from different pipes that look to be connected to the CH and off of a pipe that has a vent The kitchen pulls from what looks like the pipe from the top of the cylinder and there is no vent on any run of this...

ill check this but dont think so the run to the kitchen does t off towards the end to feed the cloakroom

Already checked, the pipe hasn’t much fall to be honest but is almost as long as the property, when the air is there it’s easily resolved with putting a wet a cover the tap and drawing it out, it then appears a week or so later

the bigger tank has been in the same place for 30 years so confused as to why this would need raising now, it is higher than the pipework but i would say not by much, a few inches, would the AAV not relieve the air ?

Bathroom Is a feed from behind the hot water tank and not from the loft

It’s not higher, it runs below the header rank water level The header tank is as high as it can be in the loft as there was an issue with the vent sucking air into the CH system, raising it sorted the problem

Gravity system Hot water tank is in the bathroom, same level as it’s a bungalow Cold water tank is fine and not emptying Hot water in the bathroom is fine, it’s just the hot feed to the kitchen and cloak room, these are fed by the same pipe and T pieced in the loft

As for your plumbing problem: it sounds as if the pipework is causing a syphon and an NRV would be more appropriate than an AAV. Thanks for this, I see the NRV would be an option as this would stop air and water coming back up the system I guess Would it hurt to put 1 in on each on the hot...
