    Core drill vs SDS drill

Okay, I've bought the second hand Makita. I think it's a good investment.

    Core drill vs SDS drill

Yep, good point. The other goes up to 152mm. Anyone got any issues with the Makita? Overall reviews are good.

Agree, whch of the two would be a better buy from the links I posted?

    Core drill vs SDS drill

Thanks. You guys are right, I should really get a core drill and keep the SDS for everything it was designed for. What should I be ordering for occasional DIY use? Sparky or something else? Alternatively, a corded SDS that will reliably do the job?

    Diamond tip hole saw

All very good responses, thank you. I am going to return. I'm not sure about safe core size, this is the SDS drill I have: https://uk.ryobitools.eu/diy-power-tools/drilling-and-screwdriving/hammer-drills/r18sds/r18sds-0/

    Diamond tip hole saw

Thanks, these are both good suggestions. Am I right in thinking the standard way would be using a shorter hole saw of the same diameter?

    Diamond tip hole saw

I bought this to make a tidy hole in brickwork. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09JKJNJXC?th=1 I have an SDS bit with a thread on it that fits. The problem is, it's impossible to keep the bit in the same place when cutting and it goes all over the place. Any time I have used a holesaw...

Digging next to house drain, what's this pipe

Is it going to be pitch fibre pipe or are there any other possibilities?

Digging next to house drain, what's this pipe

Thanks for your reply, I used the hose to put water down the rain water trap for the garage guttering (the brickwork you referred to) and I could see it moving through that pipe. It's such a strange pipe. Tapping on it with my hand, it feels and sounds like metal and even looks a bit like...

Digging next to house drain, what's this pipe

Hello everyone, I've removed loads of earth to get a flat area for slabbing. I unexpectedly came across this. It looks like a pipe, it's very tough when tapped and the holes appear to contain fibres, what is this and what's it for? At first I thought it might have been a pipe to protect some...

What's the best liquid epoxy available at a reasonable price?

That's the mix ratio of the two components, then divide the total combined volume or weight by 40 to know how much colloidal silica to use?

What's the best liquid epoxy available at a reasonable price?

I'm struggling to figure out how to practically get the correct quantities of each. Let's say I want to fill a 10ml syringe. Can you please tell me what the quantities of each would be?

What's the best liquid epoxy available at a reasonable price?

Thank you for confirming. I've ordered using the links I included before so I have everything I need. I'm used to mixing two part filler, so this shouldn't be too difficult. I learned the hard way that not mixing the hardener in properly can result in parts of the wood filler not curing at all...

What's the best liquid epoxy available at a reasonable price?

Thank you once again. Is the idea with the syringes to premix the different parts into the syringes to get them into the tight spots? I presume it wouldn't work very well applying each part individually from different syringes because it wouldn't mix properly? I could only see a 2 syringe set...

What's the best liquid epoxy available at a reasonable price?

Thank you once again. I couldn't see a video though. I've read about hot melt glue and had I not needed to reposition the templates six times on each shelf, I may have done that. My concern would be damaging the surface of either the template or shelf when trying to detach the bond. Also, hot...
