    Part of ceiling collapsed

For the most part this went smoothly. There were two hiccups. One was the 15mm plasterboard I ordered from a company called Building materials: http://www.buildingmaterials.co.uk/. They sent 12.5mm. After they failed to respond to my emails, we made endless phone calls on their expensive...

    Part of ceiling collapsed

I've ordered all the things I need. I've even found some 15mm plasterboard. What I can not find in the UK are Plaster Washer/Ceiling Buttons. If I lived in the US it would be easy: http://www.kilianhardware.com/ceilbutplasw.html I'd rather not wait that long. Does anyone know of anywhere...

    Part of ceiling collapsed

    Unable to open loft hatch

I secured the tongue using two bolts with the nuts on the outside of the hatch and hacksawed the thread level to the nuts. The nuts are hidden from view by the plastic catch.

    Unable to open loft hatch

Hi Thanks for the replies. I tried all your suggestions but it failed to release the lock. I decided to try to drill out the screws holding the tongue. I made a guess at where the tongue was and started to drill into the tongue itself! I then took a punch and hit it hard ... This was a...

    Unable to open loft hatch

To open my loft hatch, I normally just push it up with the end of the pole and the spring releases the door. It is not opening and I can't get into the loft to see what is wrong. Can't take the hinges off as these are also above the door. I bought a similar lock catch (see picture)...
