    Internet Supplier please help!!!!

You have broadband access so the problem is not BT. You have not set up the wireless part of your netgear kit. The padlock only shows that the site you are accessing is secure - NOT that your end is! Read the netgear manual!

    Ford Escort engines

It will be the head that has been sent away to be skimmed - if parts have melted (presumably the alloy pistons) then the block will be damaged as well, plus possibly bearings etc. - a secondhand engine is an answer but how do you know what condition it is in?, labour charges for rebuilding your...

The 30/50 has 2 temperature stats (high and Low) as well as the overheat stat - try changing to the "other" temp stat i.e from low to high or vice/versa, by the control panel switch, to check for a faulty temperature stat. MikeD

weak wifi signal help please, wifi boost?

An alternative which my son used, are the adaptors which use the mains cabling. He had the same problem as you and didn't want to take up floorboards and run cables. He used netgear kit and is very pleased with it. Just plug each (one per laptop and one for your router) into a mains socket with...

    Spongy Brakes

I think unlikely after all it's only 9yrs old, but for what it's worth, I have had the flexible hoses "weaken" to produce excessive travel - but not intermittently. MikeD

excessive brake travel when engine is running?

If the pedal goes to the floor with the engine, therefore servo, operatingthere is either a leak or, more likely, air in the system. this is not normal - to say it is is stupid - worst case could be a fault with the servo!! . With the engine running the brake servo will be operating, hence...

Two towers, one monitor & KVM cable

As far as I know, no monitors have ever used a serial or USB port for video, all have a VGA port - 3rows of pins in a housing like a serial port!! The USB port on a monitor, espcially TFTs is usually to allow a keyboard and/or mouse to be easily connected - nothing to do with video. Your KVM...

If the starter motor is spinning, then sounds like the pinion is stuck - remove motor and clean the shaft - assuming it's not a pre-engaged starter motor!

What do you mean with "and will copy a dvd from the dvd rom already fitted"? I believe Win XP anly supports CD burning - Do not know of a free DVD burning package - I use Nero - the older versions are often available cheaply but you need to ensure your recent model drive is supported! Hope...

    Inverters

If the output from the mains charger is 65W as you state then this is the maximum/surge output power needed for your laptop (usually quite a lot less). So this is the maximum output needed from the invertor plus a little for losses in your charger converting back to DC. In the way of the world...

    pug 206

Could be the thermoswitch. If you can identify it (usually fitted into the left hand side of the radiator - follow wires from fan). Has 2 wires going to it. Unplug it and short out the 2 contacts in the plug - with the ignition on the fan should run, regardless of the water temperature. If it...

more electronics really, but maybe someone knows

Seem to remember from the distant past!! that some systems have a zener diode across them to dump/absorb over-voltage when there is no load on the system. If this blows then you get the symptom you describe - overvoltage blows the brake light. Hope this helps MikeD
