I woke up this morning a bit sore following a screw.

    Petnapping

This all seems to have become quite vitriolic, with particular (and unfair) criticism directed at David & Julie.

    Petnapping

Couldn't agree more - each to their own. When I was younger, I failed to see the logic in paying £x,000 pounds to go on holiday for 2 weeks, after which there is no realisable or saleable asset to demonstrate what the cash has been spent on - my view was that I wanted a car, motorbike, tv...

VW Golf Reverse Lights not working

When the wipers stopped working on my (2001) VW Sharan, it caused me and the RAC man no end of head scratching - no power at the wipers yet the fuse was intact. Recommendation was to take it to a VW agent pronto. He telephoned a couple of hours later to tell me he had just had another call...

I'm still waiting for the cheques to arrive. Bloody dog hairs all over the place. I might have to cut my losses and take all these animals back home......

    Petnapping

I've never seen such crap and *******s in my life. If somebody nicks your dog/cat/gerbil, buy another one. Simple. No pet is worth the £7k that some hapless moron paid to get his labrador and pups back. Seems to prove that fools and their money are easily parted.

    Rover warranties

Nice idea, but in practice PwC are currently administrators and therefore (a) have obtained protection from the court effectively obtaining a moratorium from any creditors taking action against the company such as winding-up petitions etc in respect of unpaid debts, and (b) have a duty to obtain...

    New vehicle

I quite agree - unlikely to set the world on fire but my decision in terms of arriving at a shortlist has been driven (no pun intended) by a desire on my part to pay as little as possible to HM Treasure/Inland Revenue via BIK tax, hence anything with a remotely powerful petrol engine/auto...

    New vehicle

Chaps I am about to change my company car and have narrowed down the list of 90-odd vehicles to a shortlist of 4. Whilst I can appreciate this is a highly subjective decision, I was wondering whether anybody had any good or bad experiences of the following: 1. Peugeot 607 HDI (terrible...

Sounds like it could be excessive crankcase pressure - perhaps the piston rings are past their sell-by date.

I would be careful with this, as the tyre markings usually relate to the maximum inflation pressure which could be totally unsuitable for driving around on, and potentially dangerous if over-inflated.

    Poor CS from VW

Sadly, I too have no end of bother with VW agents - their level of customer service has to be experienced to be believed. Recently took my Sharan in for a 50,000 mile service, asked for the wiper blades to be renewed, rear washer to be reconnected (the pipe had come adrift in the passenger...

    Trailers: pros and cons?

And they are short wheelbase and close coupled - this, in my experience, has the effect of making them very sensitive and quick to react to even small steering inputs and they 'snap' round very quickly. I agree, the bigger the trailer the easier to reverse.

    Renault Extra diesel head.

No - Peugeot 1.9D and Renault 1.9D totally different. Citroen and Peugeot engines are broadly the same, both companies being part of the PSA Group.
