Radiator not heating up on one side

OK it has defeated me - got a plumber coming on Tuesday :) if anyone is interested I can update this thread with what the problem is, assuming the plumber is able to figure it out lol.

Radiator not heating up on one side

Can't see a label, sorry. Is it a sticker or something beveled or engraved on? If a sticker it is probably long gone.

Radiator not heating up on one side

Sorry just thinking about this more I have another column radiator that is identical to this one that works fine and the valves are the same way round. Edit: unless the flow and return pipes are themselves the other way round and the valves have been fitted incorrectly.

Radiator not heating up on one side

I just got back today and tapped the side - no joy. But I can't see any arrows on the back. Where abouts would I see them?

Radiator not heating up on one side

Am now away for a few days so will try this when I get back. Taps on the side of the valve? And to your other question - I don't know. Only just bought the house and the work was done by the previous owners.

Radiator not heating up on one side

Radiator not heating up on one side

So the lockshield (or "lockshield" seeing as I don't seem to have a traditional one) is fully open already - would something like this be any use resolving the issue I'm having atm? Well, yes, otherwise this would be an easy problem to solve :)

Radiator not heating up on one side

Yup-the pin is definitely moving when pushed. Noticed that it sounded more like water was flowing when the pin was pushed down a bit so screwed the cap back on but doesn't seem to be making a difference to the heat.

Radiator not heating up on one side

The lockshield valve is a pin valve. There is nothing pushing it down, so my understanding is that it is fully open. The cap on the valve can be tightly screwed on so it may be designed to push the pin down when fully on, but I'm not convinced it has actually done that.

Radiator not heating up on one side

The radiator was removed recently in order for some plasterwork to take place and is no longer functioning properly. It's a vertical radiator and the two bars closest to the trv get hot, but the rest remain cold or at best get lukewarm after several hours of running the heating. The lockshield...
