Fitting stone shower tray on floor (two plumbers says no cement required?)

I like the look of the Marflow Shower PL8 fixing plate, and I think I might be able to get the pipes brought in 15mm. Assume worse case the plumber can bend a copper pipe to bring it in 15mm? ie, straight pipe from the connector directly through the fixing plate. Can do without those adapters...

Fitting stone shower tray on floor (two plumbers says no cement required?)

It's going to be tricky as not much room to play with inside the wall.

Fitting stone shower tray on floor (two plumbers says no cement required?)

Good tip! The distance between the pipes in the wall is 165mm. That's what the builders did. Watching a plumbing YouTube channel assume I bring the outlet close to the hole then after tiling use the adapter to decrease to 150mm

Fitting stone shower tray on floor (two plumbers says no cement required?)

Here's a close up of the floor Sounds like I'll proceed with tanking the walls, just need to be certain about the floor and what product to use for sticking it down with

Fitting stone shower tray on floor (two plumbers says no cement required?)

Thanks everyone Why don't they use this stuff when building the house? Would tanking the walls and floor be the next best thing?

Fitting stone shower tray on floor (two plumbers says no cement required?)

Hi Everyone, We are having our upstairs en-suite done. It is well overdue, and at some point water has managed to seep through the cracks and wet the plasterboard behind. Also, we had terrible banging pipes behind the shower when the downstairs kitchen tap was on. I've ripped everything out...

Help with Crown matt emulsion (dries different colour with brush to roller)

I'm gonna have to call it a day and either live with it, or buy something else and start over again. It's 95% ok

Help with Crown matt emulsion (dries different colour with brush to roller)

Getting there! My cheap 4" roller has been amazing! Used frog tape and basically painted the entire room with a damn 4" roller. Went fast as hell making sure I absolutely loaded the paint on. It's drying and I can already tell it's nigh on perfect. Been looking at it from all angles whilst...

Help with Crown matt emulsion (dries different colour with brush to roller)

Had an idea....bought a 4" roller and repainted the wall from top to bottom with a combination of small and larger rollers. Now the colour is uniform. Next problem! Due to the 25+ degree heat the paint is drying far too fast meaning sometimes I am going over paint with the roller when it's...

Help with Crown matt emulsion (dries different colour with brush to roller)

No, it's been painted before (only once though by the house builders). I'd have thought four coats would have done the trick. Not so bothered about the texture, but the colour is totally different.

Help with Crown matt emulsion (dries different colour with brush to roller)

Thanks, good advice It's boiling at the minute, the room was like an oven. Don't think that would have helped. Even early in the mornings is hot in that room, and when it does start to cool at night it's too dark to see anything properly. The first couple of coats were thinned down, maybe...

Hanging 5kg shelf on plasterboard - Metal studs

You want toggler toggle bolts. Get them off ebay. B&Q sell them, but avoid! They are rubbish. Only use toggler ones. We also have a new build, plasterboard walls. We've hung a 40" TV using them and it's not fallen off in over a year :) They are genius! also used them in the cloakroom for...

Help with Crown matt emulsion (dries different colour with brush to roller)

What a weekend I've had!! Decided to paint the spare bedroom (our office basically) grey, and has turned into an utter nightmare. Basically the paint dries a different shade of grey dependant on what you use to put it on with. I did the tops of the skirting board, and just under the ceiling...
